rintatolimod Combination Shows Strong Results in Recurrent Ovarian Cancer Trial

Updated Phase 2 trial results showed that combining rintatolimod with Pembrolizumab and cisplatin may greatly improve outcomes for patients with platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian cancer.

Among 24 evaluable patients, the treatment achieved a 50% objective response rate, including 5 complete responses. This was much higher than the response rate previously seen with pembrolizumab alone. The clinical benefit rate reached 79%, and median overall survival was 32.5 months. Some patients experienced responses lasting more than 70 months.

Rintatolimod works by activating the immune system and helping checkpoint inhibitors like pembrolizumab work better. In this study, the drug was delivered directly into the abdominal cavity to create a stronger local immune response. The treatment was generally well tolerated, with no severe Grade 4 or 5 side effects reported. AIM ImmunoTech plans to continue developing the therapy for ovarian and other solid tumors, including pancreatic cancer.
