Recent oncology developments have introduced several innovative therapies across solid and blood cancers, offering new treatment options for patients with previously limited choices. Inlexzo, an FDA-approved gemcitabine intravesical system, provides extended local delivery for adults with BCG-unresponsive non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, reducing the need for repeated procedures. Ifinatamab deruxtecan (I-DXd), a B7-H3 directed antibody-drug conjugate, demonstrated meaningful responses in previously treated extensive-stage small cell lung cancer patients in the IDeate-Lung01 Phase 2 trial.
Personalized mRNA vaccines are also advancing globally. Russia’s Enteromix vaccine passed preclinical trials, showing high efficacy and safety in colorectal cancer, with glioblastoma and melanoma versions in development. Other approvals include Relacorilant for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, Dordaviprone (Modeyso) for diffuse midline glioma, and Selumetinib (KOSELUGO) for pediatric NF1 patients with inoperable plexiform neurofibromas.
In blood cancers, Jaypirca (pirtobrutinib) improved progression-free survival in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and small lymphocytic lymphoma compared to chemoimmunotherapy, highlighting ongoing progress in both targeted and personalized cancer therapies.
